Freebie Friday for July 29th

Hello all, Tina here.

Today, there are three circular tags to grab for FREE. These tags, designed by yours truly, are sized at 1.25" in diameter and are perfect for punching with a 1 3/8" or larger punch, you could use nesties as well. Of course, they're easily resized for your needs. They are available as PNGs, you should be able to right click to get them off the blog.

Here I used the circular "back 2 school" element for a larger gift tag for an insulated drink cup and some reusable ice cubes. My son will be starting school next week and this will be the perfect "welcome back" for his teacher. We found out we are getting a super great teacher this year, we had her in 1st grade too. She's one of my favorite people at our school.

The tag itself is about 3.75 x 2.25, the corners punched with a tag corner punch. A label shape was used on the printed paper and then my sentiment circle was punched and mounted onto more punches and adhered with foam boosters.

I just added another punched circle for an accent at the top and then threaded the ribbon through and tied it off with some twine.

If you get a chance to use these images, we'd love to see your work. So, be sure to link it up on this post. Enjoy!

Favorite Customer Card

This card was designed by Adrienne D, who is a newbie stamper. She started off with a pre-printed note card, which is something I love to do too!  Not only that, I loved the summery colors that go along well with the Freckled Lemonade Stamp set. It's a great set b/c it has both solid and line images along with some fun sayings!  If you don't have this Paper Makeup Set, then you are really missing out!

So, just a heads up, the Senior Paper Makeup Artists are looking for customer cards to show case on the PMS company blog.  Be sure to use the keywords "Paper Makeup Stamps" (without the quotes) when uploading to Splitcoaststampers or other online galleries so we can find your delightful creations!

A Technique for Tuesday!

Hello and happy Tuesday to all you PMS fans! I don't know about you, but I sure am sweltering from all the heat we have been hit with lately! It's a good thing I can escape the heat and craft in the air conditioning!

Do you have a tool that you always forget about? I do. It's my heat gun! I know that many of you use it all the time for heat embossing, but until lately mine has been stashed away under my desk. Would you believe I even though about getting rid of it? I'm sure glad that I didn't because I've been really enjoying using it for a fabulous technique lately.

How often do you do use the technique Emboss Resist? Have you ever tried it before? If not, I'm telling you that you need to add this fabulous (and oh so easy!) technique to your crafting! I have been playing around with this technique with various stamps but REALLY love using the fabulous Fairy Silhouettes.
The typical emboss resist is to use watermark ink with clear embossing powder on white paper and then add ink around it to make it pop. That is a beautiful look, but I wanted to accentuate the dark silhouette of a fairy. So I stamped my Kirsten Silhouette with black ink and embossed her with clear embossing powder. Then I used four different ink colors and sponged all around her to create a sunset scene. I wiped off the fairy image and the silhouette really popped out! I added some grass using my multi-liner pen and I think I actually kind of made it look like sand with the sand grass sticking out--I love it!

This is just another way to really have fun with the Fairy Silhouette images--why not try it for yourself?!

Until next time,

Lisa
