Jen's Sunshine, A charitable Digi Set for Jen Scull

We told you to come back for a very special post today.... and we are so glad you did!
Today we are releasing a very special Digi Set in honor of one of our own!

Jen Scull joined the PMS digi makeover team in the early fall of 2011.  She had been a big supporter and cheerleader  of PMS before ever joining the challenge team and we were so happy to have her aboard!
In January of this year, Jen decided to step down from many of her design teams and get some life priorities back in line.  Oh goodness, we've all been there!  When we realize we havent eaten or slept, played with our kids or done laundry but yet we've done about a half a dozen layouts and a stack of cards!  We completely understood and respected Jen's decision.  What was around the corner for Jen, however, wasn't a big exhale and back to family time.  It was some hard news and very shortly after, Jen discovered she had breast cancer.  It was the cause of her feeling so run down.  The cause of painful seizures she had been having.  The cause of many things.
I'm sure it goes without explaining, how hard something of the magnitude of cancer can be on a family.  Jen has been one of the most courageous women I know, battling this disease with a wonderful outlook and takes each day, 1 day at a time.
Recently, we asked Jen if she would like to join the team again.   Afterall, our design team members are part of the PMS family.  We wanted her to know we supported her just as much as she has supported each one of us.  We know that her posts and cards may not be every week, but we love having her positive outlook and rays of sunshine within our group.
As much as it goes without saying that having cancer has a hard impact on family, but also financially.  We have created this Digi Stamp Set (complete with 2 images and 3 wordarts) as a charity fundraiser for Jen and her family.  ALL proceeds from the sale of this set will go directly to the Scull family to use as they need.
The cost of this set is $10 and you will get both .png and .jpgs of each file.
You can purchase this set HERE.

Here are some peaks of this set..

And here are some samples from the design team!  We will be sharing more samples this week!

Thank you so much to each one of you who purchases this stamp to help out a true friend of ours!

We will be hosting a Blog Hop for Jen on August 29th.  We do ask that you use one of the digis from this set to participate, but we would love for as many crafters to join in as possible!  We will have all kinds of prizes and extra fun as well!  Keep your peepers out as one of our design team members, Jenn Cochran will be organzing it!

St Baldricks Charity Event

Have you heard of St. Baldricks? The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

Recently, I was contacted by a fan of Paper Makeup Stamps, Sarah Williams and she told me the story of her friend. Her friend has a boy named Oliver. Oliver has an inoperable brain tumor that is terminal. Oliver wears an eye patch so that he does not get double vision, but being the trooper and fun little guy that he is, he eye patch sports a guitar and the words, ROCK N ROLL! He's a kid after my own heart.

And indeed, his story has touched my heart. There are so many young ones fighting cancerous diseases, and St. Baldricks is truly making a difference!
I approached Diem about making a fairy just for Oliver with all proceeds of the digi sales going to the St Baldricks and/or family for Oliver. She loved the idea and not only drew the perfect fairy for Oliver, but also an awareness ribbon and the word Rockstar!

This digi set is $4 and you can purchase it here.

And here are 2 cards I made using this digi set!
And why are we releasing this stamp today of all days? Because today, Sarah has commited to to shaving her head to raise money for this charity! You can check out Sarah's commitment page HERE! Sarah, we are so very proud of you!

A Fairy for Baylee

It's not a new thing to mention that Charity is an important aspect of life to me. Honestly, I think that if you receive good fortune in life, it is out of respect to God who gave you that fortune to help others who might need help. There are so many ways to provide an act of charity to help someone. Often times, financial assistance can help someone get thru a hard time because it's one part they wont need to worry about as much.

This is where Paper Makeup Stamps has often stepped in doing charity stamps. When you purchase a charity stamp or image, all proceeds from the sale all go directly to the designated charity.

Recently, Paper Makeup Stamps was contacted by 2 friends (Carole Chesser and Ashley Newell) about a sweet girl named Baylee Tadlock. At the age of 9 months, Baylee was diagnosed with Leigh's Syndrome. Leigh's Syndrome is a metabolic-mitochondrial disease. The family was told to expect Baylee's life to be only of about 2 years. That she would never walk, talk, sit up or even crawl. But Baylee was a fighter and a lover of life! She loved to ride horses! She loved disney and princess Ariel. Baylee recently went to be with our Lord on January 9th at the age of 13. You can read all about Baylee, her too short life, and her family's amazing faith at www.adreamforbaylee.com

One of our illustrators, Diem Pascarella drew this wonderful image. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to the Tadlock family. They have set up a scholarship fund in baylee's name with http://projectride.org. Project Ride is a program giving thereaputic but recreational horseback riding instruction to children and adults with special needs.

PMS is designating the money raised to go directly to the family so that they may use the funds as they need.

We thank you for your support in helping us to remember and honor sweet Baylee Rose.

Here are some samples of cards made using this digital image.
